CYBER MONDAY: 2012 Recap and 2013 Predictions

Best of Black Friday Deals 2013Will CYBER MONDAY 2013 start on Sunday?

Cyber Monday 2013 saw clothing and store-wide discounts trend high, starting Sunday and lasting all week! The NRF stated almost 60% of Black Friday Shoppers went for clothing in 2012, so it’s no wonder almost every clothing retailer offered deep discounts on Cyber Monday, and most with some form of free shipping. As shoppers, we all wanted to see deals on TVs, Tablets and other tech products…and there were a few worth noting! Last Cyber Monday, shoppers can sift through thousands of deals, or, they could grab a store-wide discount and knock off most gifts off their list in one or two store visits…add additional savings of cash back…Brilliant!

FatWallet’s Cyber Monday Deal Finder, for the first time, featured CYBER MONDAY ADS from 15 stores, including Walmart, Dell, Target and Macy’s. In the past, Cyber Monday was a secret hsopping day and we only knew what to expect by going online. but all that is changing. Wxpect to see more pre-promotion of Ads, including Sunday pre-Cyber Monday events…add on other retailers’ policies that boost cyber promotions like Walmart just announced for new Free Shipping, Free Pick-up, and Free Returns policy for online holiday shopping (All orders of $50 or more will qualify for free shipping, while orders of $50 or less will qualify for either $4.97 flat-rate shipping or free site-to-store in-store pickup).

On the surface (no pun intended), 10% Off seems measly. Once you go look for this deal a year later, you’ll understand why it made this list. Predictions for 2013 Cyber Monday

As mentioned at the top of this broadcast, we should expect continued pre-sales and advertising of Cyber Monday deals and promotions. With an all-time online sales record for one day in 2012, Cyber Monday has proven to be successful, if not for low prices, as much as general store-wide sales and huge media attention, prompting rewards sites to boost cash back, exclusive coupons and tempting giveaways for signing up or making a purchase. Clothing, gadgets and holiday gifts will lead the way for what people want (says FatWallet Cyber Monday Survey Results and INFOGRAPHIC), as well as we’ll see more and more shoppers using digital marketing channels to get their information from emails, mobile ads and social media events. We also expect a lot of attention to Cyber Sunday and Cyber Week, even Cyber Monday II will have some stickiness and it’s share of good value for December holiday shoppers.
