New consumer survey from Fatwallet.com reports 50% more wearables are expected to be purchased this year (thx #Applewatch), and half of American adults say they’ll buy a new smartphone at some point in 2015. Another interesting stat shows electronics purchases made with a mobile device expected to increase 21%, and 35% for Millennials. More fun info in the IG. (NEWSWIRE) Cell phone deals took center stage in last year’s Black Friday ads (and 2013 predictions) as big retailers took an aggressive line to lower prices on the top smartphones, including iPhone 5S/5C, Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and the Moto X. Either by offering an in-store gift card or boldly lowering Apple prices (some did both), they brought a record number of cell phone deals (347 vs. 137 in 2012), and some of the lowest prices ever seen on flagship smartphones (as long as you were willing to sign up for a 2 year carrier plan, which a minority of shoppers called out as a bad deal for a free phone, however, millions of others ate it up).
